Teddy: I rented a house. It's amazing. It's right on the water, a little cottage, and there's deer, like, bambi deer, and singing birds, it's incredible. I found this secret little coffee place down the street from here and, oh, and I was thinking of getting a puppy. But you know, you have to be home with a puppy and I'm always here. So I went to the pound because I wanted to get it out of my system, you know, the puppy love. And I held all these incredibly sweet dogs and you would have been proud of me, Owen, I didn't take one home. I went and got a fish instead. And let me see, what else? Oh I got a bikini wax! Yeah I got a bikini, an actual wax, I hadn't gotten one of those since - remember when I tried to wax myself and -
Owen: What is your prob-
Teddy: You are my best friend!
My best friend who I could tell everything to, and now you won't even look at me.
Owen: 'Cause you said you loved me.
I should be so bloody grateful that this has never happened to me.

Why You Should Never Marry A Poet by Heather Bell
ampersandinterrobang:
Think about it - the way that credit cards, bougainvillea, vacations, dictionaries, the road on the way to work will all never be enough. The poet wishes with her deepest bones and writes that she wishes she would have killed you in the supermarket. She wonders why she ever loved you in song. She publishes book after book. Each line detailing how your hair is ugly and...

Willow: OK, say that I help, and you start a conversation, it goes great, you like Buffy, she likes you, you spend time together, feelings grow deeper, and one day, without even realizing it, you find you're in love. Time stops, and it feels like the whole world is made for you two, and you two alone, until the day one of you leaves and rips the still-beating heart from the other, who's now a broken, hollow mockery of the human condition.
Riley: Yep, that's the plan.

Coming & Telling & Crying
thebthing:
This is Tumblr, so obviously all of you have already heard about Meaghan and Melissa’s wonderful project Coming & Crying, and have already donated money or plan to do that in the following 30 hours (because 30 hours are all that are left to help this happen. DO IT DO IT).
It is late people, and to be quite honest I don’t feel like making too much of a slick story out of this, I...

How to make a pass - to the macho men in my lane
thebthing:
Here’s the thing; when you’re swimming with multiple people in one lane, there is a good chance somebody will be slower than you are. There is an easy way to fix this: you pass them, while swimming - not at the turns, because you don’t want to cause a blockage - in the middle of the lane. And if, for some reason (the reason being that you are in fact not that much quicker) you are...

Talk with others, rebel against yourself
thebthing:
On my birthday, a week ago, I was sitting with my friends in a hotel room, eating pie and talking about everything our minds wondered upon, when I announced to be anti-military. ‘Are you?’ they asked me. ‘Yes,’ I said, ‘or well, I am a pacifist. I don’t believe in fighting; little men running around with little guns. They can be killed off so easily, especially now, what with all the...

I have started swimming again. It is wonderful being back in the water, mowing my limbs while letting my thoughts wonder wordlessly. But there is something special to this pool, the Sant Jordi Piscina, that makes my daily swim even more worthwhile: the public showers. Inside of the women’s…

So if you’re like me, you’ve been waiting your entire life for Meaghan O’Connell to make a book. And now she is. That should really be all you need to know, right?
But it somehow gets better.
Meaghan and Melissa (or, “we”) met because of the internet and writing, and writing about sex (and blogging about writing about sex). Almost since then, we’ve been...
